From my friend Joanne McGrath--
Cover the bottom of a glass or plastic pan with aluminum foil. (If you have a lot of silver to do you can also just cover the bottom of your sink.) Pour in 1 Cup of boiling water and add 2 tsps of baking soda and 1 tsp of salt. Stir to dissolve.
Drop silver pieces in and make sure each piece is touching.
Rinse and dry.
